Common Rules and Regulations

Conduct and Discipline:

Candidates shall conduct themselves within and outside the premises of the Institute in a manner befitting a student.

As per the order of Honorable Supreme Court of India, ragging in any form is considered as a criminal offence and is banned. Any form of ragging will be severely dealt with.

The following acts of omission and /or commission shall constitute gross violation of the code of conduct and are liable to invoke disciplinary measures.
Ragging as defined and described by the Supreme Court/Government.

  • Lack of courtesy and decorum, indecent behavior anywhere within or outside the campus.
  • Willful damage or stealthy removal of any property/belongings of the Institute/Hostel or of fellow students/citizens.
  • Possession, consumption or distribution of alcoholic drinks or any kind of hallucinogenic drugs.
  • Mutilation or unauthorized possession of library books.
  • Noisy or unseemly behavior, disturbing studies of fellow students.
  • Plagiarism of any nature.
  • Hacking of computer systems (such as entering into other person's domain without prior permission, manipulation and/or damage to the computer hardware and software or any other cybercrime, etc.)
  • Any other act of gross indiscipline as decided by the Board of Management from time to time.
  • Obstruction of members of the Institute administrative staff, academic staff, officers, students or servants of the Institute in the performance of their duties.
  • Furnishing false information to the Institute with intent to deceive or in circumstances Calculated to deceive. Forging, alteration, or misuse of Institute documents, records or identity cards.
  • Unwarranted interference with the Institutes’ safety equipment, firefighting equipment, security systems and alarm systems.
  • On campus or off campus conduct likely to bring the institute into disrepute. This includes in particular any off campus behavior by students that is a cause of nuisance or disruption to the residents of the town and its estates or to the general public.

for any offence committed in -

(i) A hostel, (ii) a department (iii) a class room, and (iv) elsewhere, the Chief Warden, the Head
Of the Department and the Asst. Director (Student Affairs)/ Head of the Institution Authorities of the University respectively, shall have the authority to reprimand or impose fine.

  • All cases involving punishment other than reprimand shall be reported to the Vice-Chancellor.
  • Cases of adoption of unfair means and/or any malpractice in an examination shall be reported to the HOD/Director/Principal/Dean of the institute, as the case may be for taking the appropriate action.

Student of this institute must always bear Student Identity Card with his/her photograph affixed on it.

Smoking, consumption of any kind of alcoholic drinks/drugs inside the campus is strictly prohibited.

Use the resources of the institute namely library, computers, equipments, transport, medical, communications, power, etc judiciously and effectively.

Damaging the building or any other property of the institute in any way is strictly prohibited.

Any genuine complaints file them to the concerned authority without fear.

Indulging in Ragging of any kind and sexual harassment are crimes and strictly prohibited

Students are encouraged to involve voluntarily in curricular and co-curricular activities .

Use of mobile phones/other electronic gadgets such as ipod, within the classrooms, laboratories and seminar halls is strictly banned. Violation of this rule by any student would result in impounding of these devices and strict disciplinary action.

A minimum of 75% of attendance in each subject permitted to appear for internal assessment in the institution

Candidate with a shortage of attendance in a particular subject in a semester, he/she shall not be permitted to write the internal assessment for that subject.

Use only chivalrous and well-mannered language and behave with decorum with the faculty, staff, students and guests of the institute.

No candidate is permitted to work in any outside laboratory/college/hospital/pharmacy etc. while studying. No candidate should join any other course of study or appear for any other degree examination conducted by this University or any other University in India or abroad during the period of registration.
